RV042G Statis Routing problem - RDP drop connection

Hi all.

Just bought my RV042G, and im facing a strange problem that I’ve narrowed down to Static Routeing in the RV042G. I'll try to explain..

I needed a site no. 2, (subnet) for home lab reasons. The easiest (and cheapest) way for accomplish this, was to reuse an old Linksys router. My RV042G has IPv4/Subnet mask of 192.168.1.0/24. My Linksys router has 192.168.2.0/24. The Linksys router WAN IP is 192.168.1.254, and the WAN port of Linksys router is connected to LAN port in RV042G.

To make a long story short, when routing is in place for 192.168.2.0/24 through gateway 192.168.1.254, I could connect to the services in the subnet 192.168.2.0/24. With that, I mean like the Linksys web administration portal. Both on http://192.168.1.254 and http://192.168.2.1 IP.

I have placed a Windows Server 2012 R2 in the 192.168.2.0/24 subnet. This is what my problem is. When I do RDP (remote desktop) to this server, the connection is dropped every 30 seconds, and are reconnected within 5-10 seconds. But this only happens if I have defined a Static Route in the RV042G. If I add a route in Windows (Route Add 192.168.2.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.254) I do not face this problem.

Pinging the server (IP 192.168.2.10) does not give any Request timed out at all.

The problem is clearly with the Static Routing in RV042G. And for what I have experienced so far, only RDP. I have tried to change the Hop Count from 0 to 15. This is my Static Routing config:

Destination IP: 192.168.2.0

Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254

Hop Count: 0

Interface: LAN

Appreciate any suggestion that helps my find the reason for this behavior.
