Hello,

We purchased an RV134W for its stated purposed of being a VDSL, VPN and USB mobile backup router. It was purchased from an Australian distributor and is clearly legitimate Australian channel stock.

We are unable to test it with any of the USB devices used in Australia, specifically the 320U which appeared to be supported but with "BETA FIRMWARE"Can we please have access to the firmware or a case number for return to vendor?

William, I am a Cisco Engineer from the Small Business department.

I am sorry for the hard time that you are experiencing with this unit. I am not clear what exactly do you need, do you need a case reference telling you that you need to return the unit to the point of sales? Can you elaborate?

The router comes with a USB port, which is supposed to support USB 3G/4G modems.

There are support documents on this site which state the 320 series is supported, but only a beta firmware.

I have tried to call the 1800 number for Australia, it hasn't worked for almost 2 weeks... doesn't work from mobiles or fixed lines.

At this point, no matter who I ring or chat to at Cisco, all deny they are going supply any firmware which would actually allow this router to work with any 3G cards, subsequently the devices specified feature of supported this function is redundant and falsely advertised. I would like to just return it, however the distributor refuses return until obtain confirmation from Cisco.

Thanks for the clarification, I have emailed you asking for the serial number of the unit that you want to replace. I will create a service request is your device is entitled and we are going to help you.

Hi William,

I feel your pain as I went through the same issue.

None of the devices work out of the box with the official firmware.

They are somewhat detected but do not initiate any network connection.

Good news: yes there is a beta firmware with AC320 support

Bad news: I can't distribute it

Resolution idea: pull any strings you may have with Cisco (for me it was going through my Telstra account rep) to get their techs to open a case and flash your device with the right firmware.

You can use my ticket SR 682722717 as reference.

I was assured the beta firmware would be eventually published as stable .. still waiting on that

Good Luck
