I can connect to my rv220w from windows seven with a downgrade of IE11 to IE8.
With windows 8 this downgrade is not possible.
So is it possible to connect a client from windows 8 ?
How can I do ?
thanks for your help

Hi Wiadmine1,
You can use IPsec VPN client but you need to configure it on the router (Phase 1 and Phase2) and configure the users
Please call the technical support line and they will assist you with the configuration

Hi Mehdi, and thanks for your response.
I bought the RV220W for the VPN SSL feature.
Do you confirm that connection is not possible from windows 8 ?
I didn't see any restrictions in the RV220W specifications.

Hi Wiadmine1,
Yes I confirm that and there is writing in Datasheet
SSL VPN | 5 SSL VPN tunnels |
SSL VPN platforms | Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista 32 and 64-bit/Windows 7; Mac OSX 10.4+ |
Here is the link for teh datasheet :

Hi Mehdi,
What firmware are you on ? If you are on 10.5.8 upgrade to 1.0.6.6 and test.

Hi,
I already upgrade to 1.0.6.6, and do a factory reset.
Should Windows8 work with this version ?

True might have to wait for the next release.

As per the notice at the top of the Small Business Routers forum, the RV220W is EOL as of last week so I'd be surprised if it received any more firmware updates.

I got SSL VPN on an RV220W to work using IE10 and IE11 on Windows 7. The exact settings are here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/12291941/ie10-ssl-vpn-rv220w-will-not-install.
There was a lot of trail and error my my part, before you give up on Win8 I'd say look at the settings in that thread and determine if you can find the same IE11 settings on Windows 8.
I'll add a few more insights: After getting this working 1) the throughput was underwhelming, and 2) making the initial connection is fragile (easily broken), and I would not count on using this for any kind of heavy duty work that required speedy connectivity. On a positive note, once an initial connection is established Ilve seen it stay up for hours at a time.
