I have an RV220W Router that handles all the wirred and wireless devices in my home/office.
Everything seemed fine for a few weeks until I noticed certain devices not being seen over the wireless connection. It seemed that any device with a web based interface could not connect, for example...ReadyNAS, Wireless Printer & Roku Box.
After pulling out my hair I eventually discovered tyhat by deselecting the "DNS Proxy" option, all devices sprung back to life!!
Can anyone shed any light as to why this has happened?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
With DNS Proxy enabled the router uses itself as the DNS server for DHCP clients. It passes DNS requests to the ISP DNS servers that are configured on the WAN interface of the router.

Thanks for the reply,
but why is it stopping my devices from connecting?

It sounds like your local dns resolution was being sent out to ISP servers which would not know local names like your NAS and Roku.
Thanks,
Russ

Thanks again for getting back!
Do do you have any suggestions as to how I may resolve it?
Thanks.
