I am interested in updating my router from 1.1.1.06 to the recent 1.1.1.19 (12/26/14). I noticed the release notes state: "We recommend that you reset your device to use default settings when you upgrade to version 1.1.1.19 and reconfigure your settings to include these new features." That is a lot of setup! Is there any way to know what specific items would be affected? I mean could I delete/reset those configs...update fw...then reconfig just those affected items? Thanks!

Hello
> We recommend that you reset your device to use default settings when you upgrade
I would say this is really recommendation. You can upgrade without resetting to default settings. But once you started to observe some issues after upgrade, it is good to think about complete device factory default reset and start from beginning.
Yes, I understand that this is not very comfortable as you can have a lot of changes inside your device and configuring device from scratch can result in lot of night hours spent on reconfiguration and make them work.
But from release notes it seems, that there is majority of bug fixes instead of "configuration part rewriting" or including an important new features ... at least from my point of view. Yes, they have added new openssl version ... but this shouldn't have any impact to configuration backend. Also the added support for several USB dongles, but this again shouldn't have impact to configuration. From my point of view the only configuration changes in backend could be related to PPTP. Which means, if you are using PPTP on RV320, you should note that recommendation.
Be in your case, I will upgrade with keeping existing configuration and make backup of configuration before upgrade. Don't forget, that in the worst case you can roll back to original firmware and apply saved configuration back to device.
