RV320 - port forwarding acces using internal DNS server.

 Hello,

I have RV320 series router that I need to get working with DDNS forwarding to an internal DNS server for app access. Currently the RV router works with the DDNS setup forwarding to internal network IP’s. All forwarding to IP works well, but we now have a different setup needed to access an internal DNS name, but it does not resolve.

We will not be abandoning the old setup which resolves by internal IP, but rather adding a new point for access using an internal DNS.

The current config is straight pass through to applications from there specific IP address.. Example (internal IP of 192.168.1.190:882 -  http://XXXX.dyndns.org:882/login which is port translation on the router (CiscoRV320) in TCP882-882 with IP 192.168.1.190. All works great. We have a few of them with different ports to access etc. No problem.

The added item that we have to get access to involves a new internal DNS server because the application is not accessible with hitting IP. I have setup the DNS server with the A record with no issues. We can access the app internally, but the setup to get to it from outside through DDNS \ RV router is giving me the issue.

The Router is setup with the proper access to DNS, we have the internal DNS server listed on the WAN IP and DHCP scopes. But I cannot figure out where the translation is going when coming from outside.

The address that we are trying to get is 192.168.1.245:884 – which translates to the DNS \ Website of the service (http://XXXXserver:884).

Anything that pops to mind over this?.

             Thanks,
