A family member complained that his wireless laptop has been experiencing slow Internet performance and I thought it was simply a problem with his laptop. However I just ran a DSL speed test from dslreports.com on a wired PC and found that while the upload speed was normal, the download speed was 1/20 of normal (135K vs. 2500K). I just upgraded to a RV042 from a Netgear RP614V2 that did not have any throughput issues.
I have configured a few forwarded ports and static IP addresses in the router, but otherwise the configuration has not been changed.
Any ideas what could be going on?
Thanks,
Anthony

Try disabling the SPI under the firewall settings and see if you get the same results. What are the speed that you are getting to what you are suppost to get ? curious !
Thanks

I tried that along with setting the MTU size to 1500 from Auto and I thought that fixed it, but then I switched them back and I'm still getting full download bandwidth (2700 Kbps). I suppose it could have been an ISP issue.
Now the only weird thing I'm seeing are intermittent DNS lookup failures in the browser that usually succeed on the second or third refresh.
Thanks.
