Hi,
I have Internet over Ethernet (so no DSL or Cable modem) and my provider uses PPPoE tunnels to setup connections. When I use the modem provided by my ISP I can establish a connection so everything works fine. But when I setup up my new WRVS4400n (I even cloned the MAC of my providers modem) I get the following in the logs.
Dec 31 16:04:21 - Plugin pppoe loaded.
Dec 31 16:04:21 - PPPoE Plugin Initialized
Dec 31 16:04:21 - Plugin pppoe called.
Dec 31 16:04:22 - pppd 2.4.1 started by root, uid 0
Dec 31 16:04:22 - Sending PADI
Dec 31 16:04:23 - Connecting PPPoE socket: 00:00:00:00:00:00 0000 0x427d8
Dec 31 16:04:23 - Couldn't get channel number: Transport endpoint is not connected
Dec 31 16:04:23 - Doing disconnect
Dec 31 16:04:24 - Exit.
I can't seem to figure out what's going on, any help?

I have the same problem with a WAG320N
I tried a reset, a firmware upgrade, a soft reboot, making the vodoo dance but nothing helped.
I have set the logs on and got the following:

I called the ISP and they tested the line. Everything is ok.
So I tested the line with another modem (EasyTouch 510) and internet came back instantly.
I rechecked the credentials and they are identical.
Any idea what to test now?
