WRVS4400N How to get VPN to assign my internal DNS Server rather than the routers IP Addr?

Hi Guys,

This is hopefully a quick question.

I have a WRVS4400N running Firmware V2.01.3 It is using for the LAN IP Address of 192.168.0.1.

I have DHCP and DNS being handled by a Windows Server on 192.168.0.3

When I have a client establish a VPN using the QuickVPN client, they check "Use Remote DNS Server"

That seems to assign to the Client's Machine the DNS Server settings of my WRVS4400N. (192.168.0.1)

But considering in the network I use a Windows Server for the DNS Server, how do I change the router to assign to the client's my DNS Servers IP Address? (192.168.03)

If I manually change the client after the VPN is established, DNS works fine.  But there must be a way to tell the router to assign the clients my internal DNS Server rather than the router's IP Address for DNS?

Thanks, George

I found the solution which is to set in the DHCP Settings the DNS Server IP, then to turn DHCP back off (I use my Windows Server for DHCP.)

Now the only item I still can't fix is the DNS Search Suffix.   The VPN Client is given "cisco", how do I change that?

Thanks, George
