Hi All,
Kindly clarify the following please...
Consider a setup...
PE - CE - C
where PE is Provider Edge router, CE is Customer Edge managed by us and C is the Customer Premises router, multiple of those can connect to the CE router
Now, I have configured EBGP peering between PE and CE...
The questions are...
1. Can I Trunk these interfaces on which EBGP peering is established ?
2. Is it advisable to use Vlan interfaces or subinterfaces for segregating customer traffic.
My CE is a Cisco 3745 with one of the onboard ports connecting to the PE.
I would have tried it out in my Lab but have limited resources, can anyone help out please...
Thanks..

Hi there
Could you elaborate on your setup in terms of the configuration ? That would enable you to get many options/answers, one or more of which might be suitable to you.
Cheers

Hi,
Actually I want to verify of the follwing which solution will work...
PE - CE - C
between PE and CE I am running eBGP, I am running VRF Lite on my CE to segregate between different customers... i.e. C routers...
I want to know which of these options will work...and the options I am playing with are...
1. creating sub interfaces on CE say sub interface fastethernet 0/1.700 on port directly connected to the PE and giving `encapsulation dot1q 700` command to associate it with Vlan 700, which is associated with one of my customer... subinterface 701 and 702... so on... while eBGP will run on Main interface fasthethernet 0/1
OR
2. creating SVIs or Vlan interfaces on fastethernet 0/1... Interface Vlan 700... 701.. 702 so on... for each customer with individual IPs addresses, Trunking the Main interface fastethernet 0/1... while eBGP will be running on it...
I have not been able to test this out in the Lab and have to deploy it soon...
Hope I have clarified a bit... for further clarifications kindly let me know...
Thanks
