Can subinterfaces be created and assigned to VLANs on the WAN ports of an 1811 router? I know they can be created on an 1841. Thank you for your response.

Rick
I do not have hands-on experience with the 1811 (but do with 1841 and many other router models). So I can not answer from direct experience but believe that I can answer from similarity to other routers. Am I correct in assuming that when you say WAN ports that you are talking about the 10/100 FastEthernet ports rather than the modem port? If they are FastEthernet ports then I am confident that they would support VLAN configuration.

I was referring to the 10/100 FE ports. After doing a little more research I belive if the router supports VLANs you can create subinterfaces. Thanks for the reply!
