We are receiving the following message after trying to boot to the

latest IOS 12.3(15) with IP Plus.

Error : zip decompress failed

This is our current versions of IOS and ROM. Is there an incompatibility

with the the version of ROM and the IOS we are trying to upgrade to?

Hello,

do you happen to have a new PCMCIA flash card inserted ?

You might want to try and format your flash, I don't know if this can be done from ROMMON though on the 3600 (I think the 'tftdnld' command asks you to erase the flash and formats it). If that doesn't work, and if you have another 3600 available, you could format the flash there and then reinsert it in the original router.

HTH,

GP

The 3600 series does not support formatting the flash and we do not have any other routers that support that card. We have tried erasing the flash every time we loaded the OS (several time, several versions). IP (not plus) works fine as you can see from the show ver. We are trying to load 12.3.15, IP Plus.
