3850 mode button

Hi there,

Thanks for reading.

I'm trying to do a password recovery.  My process is 1) pull power 2) hold MODE button 3) Watch switch boot straight into login prompt.

The SYST LED goes amber briefly but the STAT never lights up.  I'm sure it's my method.

Help?

Here is what to do:

1. Power down device
2. Hold mode button

3. Power on device WITHOUT letting go of mode button

4. Wait until the LEDs go steady OR better yet, at very first step put a console cable so you can see the boot process. The CLI will stop and once you let go you will be in switch: mode
