Level 1

Hello Team,

I have Cat4500 switch on the following version: 12.2(53)SG2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

Requesting your help in confirming if this model/version has the support for 4 byte AS-number.

If no then can you please point me towards the 1st release from which this is supported.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Prathmesh D

Hi,

Here example how to check if the switch / router support with 4 byte AS number :

2 byte AS numbers in the range of 1-65535

4-byte AS numbers in the range of 65536 to 4294967295.

You can verify if your switch / router support when you configure the AS number:

this one support:

R1(config)#router bgp ?
  <1-4294967295> Autonomous system number
  <1.0-XX.YY> Autonomous system number

this one not support:

R1(config)#router bgp ?
  <1-65535> Autonomous system number
