4510 connecting through swan

Dear All,

I have cisco 4510 core switch in my network now we are planning to connect SWAN to the core switch,swan admin given one ip 10.10.1.128/24 .

now i have to configure core switch.For swan what type of configuration is required.

i will create separate vlan and it has to route through my firewall.

plz any one help me swan is new concept to me.

Hello dhanikonda,

By SWAN, you mean Satellite WAN, right?

I do not think that there should be some specific port configuration on your switch. But you should be aware of some rules which apply according satellite communication.

- link quality degradation during bad weather condition

- theoretical minimum delay over satellite link 240ms(one way), latency 480ms(two way) so some timer modification would be required

But I am no expert in this area, so maybe someone on forum can explain better.
