two router connect back to back .two serial port encap ppp,and two port config two different network ip ,but they can ping success to each other.
how could this happen? why?
they is on gateway,only ip ,no shut,encap.

The reason they can ping each other is that, by default, PPP will exchange info about the IP address used by each side. This IP address will then be installed as a host router. If you issue the 'sh ip to' command, you will see that each router has a /32 route to the other router's IP address.
