hello everyone,

i need help for a task.

In a branch site i got an AP who serve guest network, server for auth is on HQ, so i need to reach the server via vpn. Tunnel is up, people using the wifi get the ip via dhcp and can reach the authentication portal, BUT after login they can not navigate and arp table will not be fullfilled by host mac addresses.

So someone in the team thought to use l2tp to solve the problem, but we do not know this technologies (i'm just a CCENT), so my question is:

is a good idea to use l2tp? which type should i use for my objective?

tia,

andrea

l2tp is protocol used to tunnel L2. Essentially a "long line" of a cable or extending the LAN. I think you need to give a bit more information about your set up. How are you isolating the guest network from your corporate network?

Are you using a WLC, do you have an anchor setup?
