Aironet 1200 Setup

Hello,

I was able to connect to the aironet via a wired connection (typing in the device's IP in the browser window) when it was plugged into my Linksys Router (wrt54g). However, when I tried to plug it into a 3com switch (SuperStack 3 Baseline) I was not able to access the setup menu. I even tried the IP setup too Cisco provides online, but it didn't work either (kept saying device wasn't answering). I used a patch cable for each process. Do I need to use a cross-over cable when plugging into the switch? If so, why?

Thanks.

How are you powering the 1200 ? Is it power injector, ? One end of power injector goes to AP while other end goes to the switch. If you are connecting a PC directly to the power injector, you will need a cross over, but if you are connecting the power injector to a switch, you need to use a straight through cable. When you connect the 1200 to the 3com switch, do you see link light on the 1200 as well as on the switch ?
