Hi Guys,
I know that the MOD80 LC is old and EOL but just wanted to double check if it can be working with ASR 9904 chassis. it is kind of an urgent router that must be deployed in one of the customer location and the customer has A9K-MOD80-TR and A9K-MPA-2X40G/A9K-MPA-20X10G MPAs. checking the documentation shows the MOD80 is only supported on ASR9001,9006,9010 and 9922 however, the customer insists that this LC should work. any advise please.
ASR, Other Routers, Other Routing
Thanks

No, the A9K-MOD80 line card is not supported on the ASR 9904 chassis. As you've already seen in the official Cisco documentation, the MOD80 is only supported on ASR 9001, 9006, 9010, and 9922 chassis that have Typhoon-based fabric and route processors. The ASR 9904 is part of a newer generation of chassis that primarily support Tomahawk and Trident based line cards. The backplane architecture and power/cooling profiles are different, so even if the card physically fits, it won’t function.
