ASR vs 7200 series router

Hi all,

I have a requirement to creat a testbed where STM1,E3,serial v.35, and g703 E1links should be simulated.

I am confused on which router to go with? 7200,7600 or ASR routers? I would require 6 slots on each router.

Do we have any option to add FXS,FXO ports/cards on any of the above router?

Any of the ISR-G2 platform would suit here?

Your expertise views/inputs will really help. Do let me know if you want more information on the requirement.

Thanks,

Raghavendra

Hello,

Is there any FXO & FXS modules which are supported in 7200 VXR or 7600 series router?

Your suggestions will really help.

Tks,

Rghavendra

Hi,

No, the VXR platform hasn't a kind of FSX/FXO module. Because it is more a high end router, it support voice related communication with the CAS module. Sort of voice trunking.

See for moe info:

And the 7600 series router Communication Media Module can contain a combination of T1, E1, and FXS ports. It uses MGCP, H.323, and SIP protocols, and it can provide Survivable Remote Site Telephony (SRST) functionality. The Voice T1/E1 and Services Module, or 6608 blade, can contain T1 or E1 interfaces, and it can perform as an MGCP gateway.

Hope this helps you.
