ASR1001 - how many LNS tunnels/sessions?

Please let me know.
We are planning to use C7201 as LAC, and ASR1001 as LNS. Required maximum number of connections is 5000.

Is ASR1001 enough to support the number of connections?

I refer the info here, but I don't know the meaning. Why the number of "PPP Session" and "L2TP Tunnel" are different?

Hi there,

ASR1001 is capable of handling 8000 PPP sessions i think you should not worry about the L2TP tunnels as once the L2TP tunnel is setup between LAC and LNS, all the PPP sessions will be tunneled into L2TP and then handed over to LNS.

For clarification of doubt if you have existing setup running use below command

show vpdn tunnel

it will show you number of tunnels between LAC and LNS if there is only one LAC than you should only be seeing only one tunnel and inside that you will PPP sessions count.
