ASR1002-X Memory leak issue

i Dear Friends

We have several ASR 1002-x with IOS version: asr1002x-universalk9.16.06.07.SPA

We use these ASRs for PPPoE termination. Around 18K session per router.

Each router has 16GB of RAM. Recently I noticed The memory usage of each router is increasing until I have following log on the Console:

 %PLATFORM-4-ELEMENT_WARNING: SIP0: smand: RP/0: Committed Memory value 97% exceeds warning level 95%

And Platform Resources shows the DRAM of RP/0 is increasing over time. As I searched It seems this a bug in IOS . but the info is for 2015 and 2016 and is related to IOS 15.3. I must mention at some point we rebooted the problematic router and problem was resolved but it happened again on the same box.

I wonder what should I do for solving the issue and at which IOS version the Memory leak issue was resolved.

Thank you for your help and support.

Hello,

the bug you mentioned indeed only lists 15.3 as affected version, but the recommended release is Gibraltar-16.12.4 MD. You might want to try and upgrade to see if the problem remains...

Hi Thanks for the tip
