Async Comunication

Hello

I have 2 power plants that need to be connect it to each other by an async port; these systems are in different location, the Comunication is done at the moment using TDM multiplexors.

We have now 2 2901 router with a WIC-2A/S card on each one to connect to the power plants. I don’t know how to configure the router to make one async port of one location to communicate with other async port in the other location.

Does anybody have an idea of how this could be done???

Thanks

Hi,

Are you using frame relay to connect these sites together?  The speed of the WIC-2A/S is only 128 kbps per port.

Are you looking to use a full T1?

Q. What are the maximum speeds supported on the HWIC interfaces?

A. The HWIC-1DSU-T1 supports a full T1 at 1.544 Mbps. The HWIC-1T and  HWIC-2T support up to 8 Mbps on each port. The HWIC-2A/S supports up to  128 kbps on each port. The HWIC-1T, HWIC-2T, and HWIC-2A/S support  asynchronous speeds up to 115.2 kbps.

On one router, under line xx, configure autocommand telnet with remote router IP. and port

For more info look documentation, or give the job to a network engoneer.
