How do I resolve a bad hop ! H ? What should I check for.

You usually get the 'H' response code when the host is unreachable. There is a path to the network but the last-hop router is not able to get to the host (no responses to ARPs for the host etc).
Check that the host you are pinging is actually up..
Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

I am trying to ping the other end of my GRE Tunnel interface (destination). I am doing tunnel mode ip ip.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

Check for someone using an illicit router with proxy ARP turned on.
Load ethereal (www.ethereal.com , it's free) on the / one of the affected clients and see where the traffic is actually going.
Are you getting "Host Unreachable" messages?
Have you tried a traceroute / tracert to verify the path?
Is the bad hop on your local network, or within a provider network?
Post (if you can) a screen capture or log.
Thanks

I am getting the host unreachable from the immediate router to mine. I am actually trace routing to the destination end of my GRE tunnel. There are three hops in between the GRE tunnel. I need the tunnel to pass my routing (EIGRP) through.
