Hi,

These days 'valid' means that the next hop associated with this route is reachable which means that the next hop ip address can ultimately resolve to an outgoing interface on the router.

In routers configured for synchronization - there is an extra rule which says that the router is only valid if the same router (prefix) also exists in the ip routing table already.

* Valid routes are available routes in the routing table which is inaccessible

*> best routes are available in routing table and also can be accessible.
