Regarding to our newly purchased Cisco 2900 router console port as of today I think it's not working. Tried the follwing steps for Tshoot. 1. Changing different console cable. 2. Using different PC. 3. Using different terminal. 4. Changing the baud rate. 5. Using USB-Serial adapter. 6. Verify COM port of dev mgmt. 7. Verify console config "line con 0 motd-banner exec-banner exec-timeout 10 0 timeout login response 30 privilege level 1 password 7 0706354F flush-at-activation logout-warning 20 absolute-timeout 0 login modem answer-timeout 15 modem dtr-delay 5 data-character-bits 8 exec-character-bits 7 special-character-bits 7 domain-lookup exec length 24 width 80 history size 20 history editing monitor escape-character soft DEFAULT escape-character DEFAULT autohangup session-timeout ip netmask-format bit-count ip tcp input-coalesce-threshold 20 databits 8 stopbits 2 start-character 17 stop-character 19 speed 9600" 8. Pluging in to the Aux port. 9. Reboot. 10. Test all cables etc. to other device and the result itsworking. 11. edit transport Still doesn't respond, Is it a sign of faulty router console end - a hardware fault or an internal loose ribbon cable. Please see the attached photo for the display. Thanks

Hi, so when you use the same ribbon cable that you used to try and connect to the Console port to connect to the Aux port it worked?
see below link to general details about console and Aux port cables
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/routers/1600-series-routers/46789-port-pinout.html
you have set your PC with No flow control?
HTH
Richard.

Might sound obvious, but did you install the Cisco USB console driver ?
