Can VRRP virtual IP be a different subnet IP from the interface IP?

Hello @goldpartner,
No, in standard VRRP configurations, the virtual IP must be within the same subnet as the physical interface IP addresses of the routers participating in the VRRP group.
The basic idea is to make the transition from one router being the active router (holding the VIP) to another router taking over (in case of failure) as seamless as possible. Having the virtual IP in the same subnet as the interface IP addresses is a fundamental part of achieving this seamless failover.
<span;>If you need a different subnet for the VIP, you may need to look into other high availability solutions like HSRP (Hot Standby Router Protocol) or GLBP (Gateway Load Balancing Protocol), but these have different configurations and behavior compared to VR

No it can not
But you can add secondary IP and assign VRRP VIP from it subnet.
I think this will work

I think...it's no need to be the real interface ip address....you can choose any ip address...but it must be in the same network...
with HSRP it must be real interface ip address...
Best regards
