hi,
i'll be configuring a cisco 1127 router and will need two "inside" interface (1 inside and 1 DMZ).
i'm not sure if ports g0/1/0-7 are "layer 2 only" ports?
can this be converted to a layer 3 port/interface using the "no switchport" command so I can directly assign an IP instead of using SVI?

- For a router I would expect this to be 'default possible' ; I have not tested this on the particular model,

I don't know this exact model, but for most router switch ports, you must configure a VLAN and assign it to the switch port, similar to what you do typically on a Layer 3 switch.

hi jens,
thanks for this info!
i just hope the 1100 comes with 17.11.1a to support flex port.
do you know the default IOS-XE when 1100 are shipped?

17.12.5a is the suggested release anyhow ...

We never received devices with the software version we wanted to use.
So upgrading to the current recommended version is a common task before deploying the config.
