Why is it that in a live environment I can ping a routers loopback address from layer 2 switch ( 2960 ) , but when I practice the config in a test environment the new layer 2 switch is unable to ping the loopback address ?
The router interface that is connected to the switch has an ip assigned to it , this has been set as the IP default gateway of the switch ( which I can ping )
The router is running ospf , but only advertising some tunnel interface networks and the subnet of which the router interface and the svi of the switch is part of .
The config for the new switch has been directly copied from an existing switch , with no amendments - so its like for like .
Any ideas?
