Cisco 4331 router with 24 port switch module iOS upgrade

Hello,

I have 4331 router with 24 port switch module. I upgraded the iOS on the router using usb but how do I upgrade the iOS on switch module using usb? I understand I can setup a laptop with tftp etc but I am looking for a usb solution.

when I plug the usb to router it detects it but I don’t think the switch module knows anything about usb stick even though, switch module is part of the router. Any help will be appreciated.

I do not have experience with this particular model. But I would expect that if the switch module is part of the 4331 that the upgrade of the 4331 would include upgrades for the module.

Unfortunately, no. Even though it is in router slot but it has everything separate from router.
