I'm running IOS version 12.3(2)XC2 on a cisco 831 Ethernet router. I would like to use the QoS features via the SDM interface...after discusing the problem with a cisco engineer, he informs me that I have to have IOS 12.3.14T and the memory required is 64mb DRAM & 12mb Flash.
The data sheet for the 831 says it has "Default DRAM Memory = 64MB" & "Maximum DRAM Memory = 48MB"
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/products_data_sheet09186a008010e5c5.html
Am I reading this wrong, but is it not saying that the Default memory is MORE than the Maximum memory? hows that possible....typo?
I found yet another document
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/prod_installation_guide09186a00800aff5f.html
and this doc says the Default memmory is 64mb with the Maximum 80mb
"Show Version" on the 831 shows 48mb....opening the router, I see a 16mb DIMM in the DRAM slot...I assume it has 32mb on board?
anybody know what the story is here?
