Cisco 877w disable password.

as the title above, i want to disable cisco 877w router password. i knew the password. the problem is, once after boot & type password, keyboard any key cannot type. the keyboard no problem at all when i type "boot" for booting. i can only at rommon mode. once i boot & entering password, any key also cannot key in. so what i should do?

Hello,

When you are at ROMMON, type "confreg 0x2142". This will disable the

password requirement. Then boot the router. You will come to "Router>" mode.

Go to enable mode (type "enable") and then copy the stored configuration to

a text file (issue "show start" command and copy all the output to a text

editor) and remove the password (if you have aaa configuration, then issue

"no aaa new-model" command). Then copy rest of the configurations back to

the router. Then, go to configuration mode and type "config-reg 0x2102",

exit out of the config mode and save the configuration (write mem). The

procedure is also listed in the link below.

Using this process, the CONFIG of your router will be erased and the router will be reset back to factory default.

At the back of your 877W router is a "Reset" button.  Turn the router off, hold down the Reset button and turn on the router.  Wait for about 10 seconds before releasing it.
