Hello there,

Today I got our new router Cisco ASR1001X and can connect via the console cable.  I need help with.

-install of licenses.

-copying and pasting the configuration from our old router cisco 2911 to the new one

Here is what I did to install the license:

-connected via console cable on a local laptop.  TFTPD32 is installed on the local laptop but cannot ping from the new router console to the connected laptop.  Must be some other way around.

Hello @amanzoorfern ,

you need to connect a LAN cable to the management RJ45 port

see

>> For ASR 1001, 1001-X, 1001-HX, 1002, 1002-F, 1002-X, and 1002-HX, the single copper (RJ-45) 10/100/1000 management Ethernet ports are built into the chassis.

please note depending on IOS XE version you may need to move to Smart Licensing ( from IOS XE 16.9.1 and later).

If you have IOS XE < 16.9.1 your approach is correct and you may be able to install a license file .lic.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
