Cisco ISR 4351 E1/T1 Card issue

Greetings all,

One of my prestigious client has recently encountered an issue that their E1/T1 Card running in their Cisco ISR 4351 Series Router is showing in inventory but can't be configured. And this is not a new installation, those were previously working fine and running for the last 2 or more years as I have been informed. But a few days earlier they faced outage after ISP end failure and after restoration of ISP links, they are facing this issue in their routers.

They have 3 sites in different location and this issue is persistent at all of their sites. The cards have been changed from one router to another but this issue is common in all devices.

We have updated OS, tried swapping slots but couldn't make any luck. This devices are running in some government organization, supplied and installed by some French company and they don't have con or other support service available for these devices.

I am giving you some logs of a device, if any more is needed that can also be arranged. But any help from you experts would be highly appreciated.

Note: I was informed they have updated the router OS, but in the logs I didn't find that. Anyway, I am giving you the logs those I have been provided by the client.

Thanks all. Good day!

I have upgraded the firmware, but that didn't solve the issue. Later I have found out that the universal firmware available at cisco download center doesn't include driver packs for some additional modules, my E1/T1 module are among them.

Anyway, I have downloaded the additional package (hw-programmable) and followed the procedures mentioned in Cisco docs. However, I am not clear if I apply the bootflash command showing the packages.conf, will it directly boot from the new source package at it's next reboot or go to rommon.

If it boots in rommon, it will be a problem cause I am 300 miles away from the device. Anyway, I have instructed the customer steps involved and waiting for their update.

Post the complete output to the command "sh platform".
