Cisco Router 2600 no prompt.

Hello,

I have a Cisco router 2600, which I use for my training lab setup. I typed write erase to start up a new configuration but the router did not come backup. I have an identical router and tried swapping flash and dram, but it did not work. Please I'd like to know if there's a way to get a prompt command back. The router keeps its ios loading in a loop, as show below.

Thank you in advance.

Hi sebahelder,

it seems IOS is too large for your router flash. I think you will have to delete ios from flash and copy new less size ios from xmodem (

I have found some useful links too

https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/9851956/sys-3-imagetoobig-2621xm

Thank you very much, Salman.

The only problem is that the router keeps in loop during the ios load process. I can't get any prompt.

Any idea, please, of getting into ROMMON or any command prompt?

Thanks again.

Actually I was just able to delete and install the original IOS, after adding more memory to the router. Then

I erased the configuration and also deleted the IOS from flash. I reloaded the original IOS through XModem from my ftp server.

I got the router back its original memory configuration 32MB, and the "damaged" router is now fully operational.

Thanks for your cooperation.
