Combining DSP's - 1751v

Hello

I’m in the process of upgrading one of our 1751v routers to support a total of SIX analog voice ports. At the moment the router has FOUR analog ports, TWO DID (one card) and TWO FXO (one card). It currently has TWO PVDM-256K-4 DSP’s and 64mb of RAM with 8mb of Flash.

My plan is to replace ONE of the PVDM-256K-4 DSP’s with a PVDM-256K-8. My understanding is the PVDM-256K-4 + PVDM-256K-8 will support the SIX analog ports. I’ll be replacing the TWO port DID card with a FOUR port DID, thus giving us a total of SIX analog ports. I'm looking at this card: http://www.neutronexpress.com/prod.cfm/199877/CISCO/VIC-4FXS/DID=/CISCO_7700_PORT

I can't find anything on whether the 1751v supports the combination of a PVDM-256k-4 and PVDM-256k-8 in the same device..?? If it does, is my memory size ok? Wouldn't think that'd matter but thought I'd check. I'm currently running 12.2(15)ZJ2 IOS on the router...I think that's good.

Any advice?

Thanks

The Cisco 1760 router has two PVDM slots. Any of the PVDMs can occupy either slot. The total number of DSPs provided by one or two PVDMs installed in those slots must be greater than or equal to the number of DSPs required by the number and type of VICs installed, as described in Table C-1.

For example, if you have one PVDM (a single DSP), and you want to increase the number of DSPs to 3, you can either add a PVDM-256K-8 in the second slot or replace the PVDM-256K-4 with a PVDM-256K-12.
