Communication between Modem and IOS failed: link recovery resets modem

Hello,

we are facing more and more failures of communication between IOS and modem on routers we are using. Since we are using wireless 3G/4G connection as backup solution, it is a big issue for us.

Did anybody face this issue already? Is it something that can be fixed with just a IOS upgrade?

Router model: C887VAG-4G-GA-K9

IOS Version: 15.5(3)M4a

You have not given us much information to work with. A copy of the config and copies of error messages would be a good place to start. It might also be helpful to see output of show interface (and perhaps show controller). It would also help to know if this used to work satisfactorily and then began having problems or whether it had problems as soon as you installed the router and its connection to the modem.

Based on the limited information available so far my best guess is that this is more likely a hardware or connector problem and less likely to be solved by changing the version of code that you are running. But you are certainly able to try a code upgrade and see if that helps.
