Hello,

I'm working on setting up my own CCNA lab at home I have a 2620 and 3 2501 routers. I have everything I need except a WIC to interface with my broadband cable connection. I see there is one for the 2800 series and I was wondering if it would work in my 2620.

Thanks

Eric

Eric,

What is the WIC model number you are talking about. If you are refrerring HWIC-Cable, then it is not supported on 2600 series. It only supports 1841,2800 and 3800 series of routers. Please see the link for more details:

Please let me know if you have any queries.

HTH,please rate if it does.

It is, unfortunately. Is there something I can use in conjunction with my cable modem to connect my lab to my network and thus the internet. I'd like to use my 2620 to act as my main router if I can.

Thanks Eric

Yes, wic-1adsl would work. See:

Hope this helps, if so please rate post!

No, my cable modem connects to my network via ethernet (rj45) something with an rj11 port won't work. From what I'm reading that's exactly what the WIC you suggest has.

Correct, I apologize for the confusion. The alternative would be a cisco 851 cable router, but you should ask the cable company if you are allowed to connect one.

I know it's for a 1700 series router but could I use a WIC-1ENET for what I want
