Dear all

im attaching my router configuration cisco 2911  ISR , i need to connect  2 different isp internet connection to my router

so my question is whats the additional command s that should i add on my attached file?

and what is the correct concept ? and how it work ?

- is it working 2 isp connection together ? with load balancing ?

- is it working like 1 is main and other is standby (backup connection ) in case if the main dsl 1 is down so backup dsl 2  will automatically run by it self ?

Hello,

track 1 ip sla 1 reachability

ip sla 1
icmp-echo 8.8.8.8 source-ip 100.100.100.1 what that mean ? --> this needs to be the IP address of GigabitEthernet0/1
freqency 3 what that mean ? --> this means a PING is sent every three seconds

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 GigabitEthernet0/1 100.100.100.2 track 1 track 1 what that mean ? --> this means that the route is tracked, if the IP SLA is down, the secondary default route is being installed
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 GigabitEthernet0/2 200.200.200.2 254 254 what that mean ? --> this is the administrative distance, it needs to be higher than that of the primary default route

Hello,

typically, you would configure an IP SLA and configure one connection as active and the other as backup. I have made some changes to your configuration (marked in bold), IP addressing is arbitrary:

thanks a lot sir !!

i have question for the below ip ? is it assumption ? correct because one of my isp router interface 192.168.1.1 and g0/1 is 192.168.1.2 ?  not 100.100.100.2 !! so should i use mine if im correct and ur ip addresses are an example and just copy paste them with my ip ??

interface GigabitEthernet0/1
description connected to PRIMARY_ISP
ip address 100.100.100.1 255.255.255.252
ip nat outside
ip virtual-reassembly in
duplex auto
speed auto
!
interface GigabitEthernet0/2
description connected to SECONDARY_ISP
ip address 200.200.200.1 255.255.255.252
ip nat outside
ip virtual-reassembly in
duplex auto
speed auto

Hello,

the 100 and 200 IP addresses are just examples, you have to indeed use your own. 192.168.1.x are not public IP addresses, so it seems a bit strange that you are using these for NAT ?

yes im using orange huawei router 4G and directly connected  to g0/1 , so to access this 4g router i have to go 192.168.1.1 for manage this router ,so i put 192.168.1.1 on g0/1 ?

im still waiting the main vodafone sdsl to be activated then it will be my primary dsl and the 4g router is the backup

thats why im using this ip same range of the 4g router 192.168.1.0/24

i have another question regarding the below : what does it mean as concept :

track 1 ip sla 1 reachability

ip sla 1
icmp-echo 8.8.8.8 source-ip 100.100.100.1    what that mean ?
freqency 3     what that mean ?

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 GigabitEthernet0/1 100.100.100.2 track 1  track 1 what that mean ?
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 GigabitEthernet0/2 200.200.200.2 254        254 what that mean ?

thanks

Hello,

track 1 ip sla 1 reachability

ip sla 1
icmp-echo 8.8.8.8 source-ip 100.100.100.1 what that mean ?
