debug ip packet only showing vty traffic

I remember running into this a few years back and it seemed like there was a solution but I cannot remember it or figure it out. I enter debug ip packet and all I see is my own traffic from talking to the router.

Richard,

The transit traffic that is fast switched or CEF switched will not show in the output of the debug. One trick was to disable CEF and fast switching but this is something I would only recommend in a lab environment. I haven't tried for a while though.
