EIGRP AutoSummary

Hello folks,

 I have few doubts about EIGRP Autosummary, I knew the concept of Auto Summary and how it works .

I read in Cisco Blog that disabling auto summary is a best practice always and  auto-summary wont create routing issues if the internetwork has all contiguous classful networks. I have tried this in GNS3 using discontiguous network but it works for me .

So my query is if we are enabling auto suammry in eigrp , is that work on discontiguous network ???

Perhaps you can provide details of the lab and what you did ?

Can you please show the topology on which you have tried this. I have labbed it up a few times and always ran into issues when I had auto summary enabled and had discontiguous networks. The discontiguous network in its simlpest form would look something like that:

10.1.1.0/24 - 172.16.1.0/24 - 10.1.2.0/24.

Network in the middle would only receive 10.0.0.0/8 from right part of the network or left and only use one. So, routing between 10.1.1.0/24 and 10.1.2.0/24 would not work . Basically, one of the 10.1. networks would become isolated.
