%EARL_L3_ASIC-SP-3-INTR_WARN: EARL L3 ASIC: Non-fatal interrupt Decision Engine block interrupt
This is reported when an invalid Ethernet frame arrives to the switch, either as a result of a hardware failure of the board, or also in a lab environment when the switch is connected to a traffic generator and invalid traffic is sent (size of Ethernet frame reported different than expected IP packet size). This error message, when seen in a lab, is not a problem with the switch, merely an indication that an invalid frame was received and reported. Sometimes when the problem happens on its own, could be the sign of a HW failure.
The second error message: EARL_NETFLOW-SP-5-NF_ECC_REMOVE, is logged after the first one and indicates that a Netflow shortcut was invalid and removed.
To find out if the supervisor is faulty, the best way to check it is to:
- Configure "diagnostic level complete"
- Reset/reload the SUP720 module
- Collect the logs at booting time.
- Collect "sh test "
Once this is done, if you see the errors again, collect "remote command switch sh platform
hardware tycho interrupts" several times to see if the errors increase and which ones and keep troubleshooting from there.
