High CPU load on 827

Hi,

We have 2 827 routers that connect via site to site vpn to a 1721. recently the 827's have been causing speed issues.

I have run a "show proc cpu" on each router and the "Encrypt Proc" seems to be the cause of the problem.

Please can some one tell me what this process does (I guess something to do with encypting the VPN traffic?) and also how I can go about reducing the load?

Hi Shawn,

How much traffic are you pushing through it ?

The 827 isn't a particularly grunty box and you are likely to hit such issues especially if you are running encryption on it.
