You may need to narrow down you question. There are many thing we can configure on the WLC and is complicate to put it in a step by step fashion.

This link is the configuration guide for WLC version 8.5. As you can see, even the configuration guide must be divided in many sub tittles
I advise you to start by looking into how can you create an SSID and propagate it to an access point. Or, how can you first join one Access Point to the WLC.
