The reason posting this discussion to get rough idea how to migrate or replace old Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2) with ASR1002 or ASR1001. Currently my company have two Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2) router with the internet connection 500mbps and 1gbps running as HSRP. We are planning to replace these router. Can any suggest the game plan to replace these two router? How can we initiate the plan for the replacement? My plan to replace by copying the config from Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2) to new ASR1002. Once ready swap the fiber optic cable from Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2) to ASR1002.

Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2) = 500mbps
Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2)= 1gbps
Mode: HSRP
Both router configured with AS number.
