One of my interfaces is showing this:
#sh standby
GigabitEthernet0/1 - Group 20
State is Init (interface down)
Virtual IP address is 10.1.28.1
This system RouterA) is IP's with .2 as its IP and .1 as the standby.
It partner - ROuterB is .3 with .1 as standby
Router A can ping .1,.2,.3 - Router B acan ping .1,.2, and .3
A show interface on routerA shows it as up/up
From the next device (.4) I can ping .1, .2, and .3
From a network POV it seems to be working just fine.
both sides have Preemption enabled
any ideas why this "State is Init (interface down)" issue is happening?
This is in a sh standby as well:
RouterA: Priority 200 (configured 200)
RouterB: Priority 195 (configured 195)

I ran a shut, no shut on the A interface and things came back up.
