Hi I do need IP connectivity router-to-router (between R1 and R3) via a trunk like this:
R1-----R2----R3
Should it be enough to add an IP-address on each sub-interface (with encapsulation dot1q) on R1/R3 and add two trunk/sub interfaces on R2?

In this case, R1 and R3 won't be on the same subnet/broadcast domain.
You can use sub-interfaces or normal interfaces between R1 & R2 and between R3 & R2.

But would not that be the case If I use encapsulation dot1q 100 on all the sub interfaces and add the IP address to the same SVI (100) on both R1 and R3?
