Is it possible to setup and have a working NAT/PAT in your LAN?

I am trying to setup and test NAT/PAT within my LAN. So far I've been failing miserably. Can anyone shed some insight into how I can actually make this work, as I am struggling?

I have 4 subnets, x.x.10.0/24 is my backbone. The router has 4 interfaces to the remaining subnets. The subnet that I am attepmting to use in the NAT/PAT solution is x.x.14.0/24.

On my NATTING router, I've got a virtual IP address which NAT's to local IP on subnet x.x.14.0/24. Int Fa0/0 sits on the x.x.10.0/24 subnet and x.x.17.0/24 is a loopback interface

Protocol is RIP.

I will attach my output and config for you.

The reason it does not work is because the packet source does not enter on the loopback interface where ip nat inside is configured.

In order to go through NAT a packet must go from inside to outside, or outside to inside.

In order to get this situation working you would have to do NAT on a stick.
