I'm currently running a 2610 with NM-4E and WIC-2A/S running IOS 12.1(5)T5
I wish to buy a new router so that I can make use of ADSL. I'm think of buying the 2811 ( PPPoE capable ) which can take the WIC-2A/S ( says in the documentation )but my concern is the NM-4E module. Can I use the NM-4E in the 2811 and if not what is the equivalent of the NM-4E for use in a 2811. Any advice is most appreciated.

I think NM-4e is supported by the 2800s. I cant find a direct ref. to prove this. But it definitely is not listed in the list of unsupported modules. Like said in previous post, the routers come with FE ports (2 of them). Will you be using that many ports ?

I definitely need more then two FE ports.
I actually need four - 2 for my 2 LAN subnets, 1 for my ADSL link and 1 for my satellite link.

I would suggest using something like a wic-4esw or nm-16esw (too many ports) for your lan side and use the built-in FE ports for your wan connections (VSAT and ADSL). You can create SVI (vlan) interfaces on the router and each SVI interface can be configured with a Layer 3 address.

Thank you Shanky for your suggestion. Most appreciated. Will get a HWIC-4ESW.
Many thanks
