Hello guys,

do anybody know if the "GLC-SX-MM" is offical supported on "SPA-5X1GE-V2" ?

My customer tested it and it seems to work but now i need an offical statement

In the data sheet there is no entry of the requested SFP.

Really thanks for your help

Philip

Hello, Yes it is supported:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/shared_port_adapters/install_upgrade/ASR1000/ASRintro.html

I am using this in the ASR1000 too.

ASR1001-01#show inventory

NAME: "Chassis", DESCR: "Cisco ASR1001 Chassis w/o IDC"

PID: ASR1001-4X1GE     , VID: V03, SN: xxxxxxxxxx

NAME: "SPA subslot 0/1", DESCR: "5-port Gigabit Ethernet Shared Port Adapter"

PID: SPA-5X1GE-V2      , VID: V02, SN: XXXXXXX

NAME: "subslot 0/1 transceiver 3", DESCR: "GE SX"

PID: N/A                 , VID:     , SN: xxxxxxxxxxxx

ASR1001-01#show hw-module subslot 0/1 transceiver 3 idprom

IDPROM for transceiver GigabitEthernet0/1/3:

Description                               = SFP optics (type 3)

Transceiver Type:                         = GE SX (19)

  Product Identifier (PID)                  = N/A

  Vendor Revision                           =

  Serial Number (SN)                        = XXXXXXXXXX

  Vendor Name                               = CISCO-AVAGO

Vendor OUI (IEEE company ID)              = 00.17.6A (5994)

  CLEI code                                 =

  Cisco part number                         =

  Device State                              = Enabled.

  Date code (yy/mm/dd)                      = 12/02/02

  Connector type                            = LC.

  Encoding                                  = 8B10B

                                              NRZ

  Nominal bitrate                           = GE (1300 Mbits/s)

Minimum bit rate as % of nominal bit rate = not specified

Maximum bit rate as % of nominal bit rate = not specified

Hope this helps,

In the Data sheet there is only the GLC-SX-MMD SFP. The "D" is only for the DOM functionality. So makes it no difference if its GLC-SX-MMD or GLC-SX-MM right ?

Correct, D is only if you want to enable it.

Hope this helps.
